We are very fortunate to often have staff return year after year. As events change and guiding positions become available, we give first consideration to trip leaders and guides holding a current guiding certificate. We also consider newly certified guides wishing to further their training with hands on river time; required prior to commercial guiding on their own. We also run a very successful training program on certain years for aspirant guides wishing to join our crew in this dynamic white-water environment.

A class 2 licence is preferred, a class 4 licence is an asset, a class 5 licence with excellent driving skills may be acceptable. Desirable attributes are being personable and enjoying the public.

Oly, our training director; has a solid history of BC and international guide training. Oly, along with Barb and the senior trip leaders, provide a training program that is fun, interesting and very effective. At this time of writing, Transport Canada is proposing new regulations to the guide training program in BC, due to be in effect in 2006. Due to this upcoming change our web site does not have complete details on the training program. Current info on the proposed regulations may be found under links at www.bcroa.com.
