LIABILITY
Whitewater activities carry inherent risks beyond human control. ARR takes every precaution to provide a safe experience. We do not assume responsibility for personal injury or damage to property. A release of liability waiver must be understood and signed by each participant. Rafters under 19 years old must have a parent or guardian sign as well. A witness who is 19 years old or above must also sign. This is usually the office personnel. The waivers can be filled out upon arrival at the office. Large groups may wish to have this done ahead of time.
OUR STAFF
At Adams River Rafting we value and respect our dedicated staff . Our guides possess certification required by Transport Canada, hold tickets in wilderness or advanced first aid, and Swiftwater Rescue.
WAIVER
Each participant with Adams River Rafting must complete a waiver form. We have family waiver forms at our office which can be filled out by either parent. Failure to fill out a waiver form means no rafting trip for that participant.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Can Grandma join us on the trip?
Yes Grandma or Grandpa can join the trip. Depending on their fitness level we would usually encourage this during summer flows. If they don’t want to paddle they can hold onto the rope attached to the raft. There are some rapids and they will get wet! There is some light walking a stairs to go up at the end of the rafting trip.
can someone who isn't rafting tag along for the bus ride?
We don’t encourage this as part of our trip. This is because our bus requires a class 2 driver license if there are passengers in it. Our shuttle driver/photographer may or may not have their class 2 drivers license? The class 2 driver who brought the group to the river may be taking a group of people down the river in a raft.
Can we eat our picnic lunch at the Rafting Centre?
Yes please have a picnic at our site. We offer a few picnic tables and a grassy area for you to enjoy your lunch.
Can we go with bare feet?
No, we require you to wear secure shoes (old running shoes, sandals with a heal strap) while on the trip. We do offer some shoes onsite if you don’t have any.
Do I have to know how to swim?
You can still join the trip but we may have you hanging on and not paddling during the bigger rapid sections. We encourage the non swimmers to join us during summer flows.
Do I have to paddle?
No you don’t but it is encouraged. If you can’t paddle because of an injury you can hang onto a strap attached to the boat.
Do you give safety instructions?
Yes we do. At the beginning of the trip we will deliver a safety briefing of all the “what if scenarios” and what you need to do in those situations.
Do you offer Camping?
Sorry we don’t but we can help you find a place in the area.
How far are you from Shuswap Provincial Park?
We are 2 km from the Provincial campground. You can drive, walk or ride your bikes to our site from there. We have room at our site for your bikes.
How many can go in one raft? Can our group go together?
We can fit 8 adults and up to 10 people if there are youth in the group. We like to keep you in your own groups during the river trip but if your group #’s eceed 10 people we have to split your group up.
Is there potential for the raft to flip?
Yes the raft can flip. This usually happens during spring flows and we cover what to do in that situation during our safety briefing.
Should I bring my asthma puffer/meds on the bus?
Yes please bring any medications you may need and we can store them in our first aid kit inside a dry bag.
