DISCOVER ADAMS RIVER RAFTING

OUR RAFTING TRIPS

To all visitors,

In light of the COVID-19 outbreak, Adams River Rafting is taking all the proper precautions. During our trip we ask that you stay 6 feet apart from all other groups. During the bus ride we will provide you with a face mask.

Please read the following questions:

  1. Do you have a fever?
  2. Do you have one or more of the following respiratory symptoms; cough, shortness of breath, or breathing difficulty?
  3. To your knowledge, have you had close contact within the past 14 day with a person who has been infected with COVID-19?
  4. Have you been out of the country within the past 14 days?

If you answer yes to any of these questions, please do not come on our trip! We take seriously the health and safety of our guests, and hope to be able to see you soon.

Thank you for your understanding.

You’ll enjoy over 1 hour on the river winding thru Roderick Haig-Brown Provincial Park. We take an interpretive stop along the way; in summer you can enjoy a swim, the water is warm – a real treat for a white-water river in BC.

At the take-out site the rafts are loaded back onto the trailer (your help is greatly appreciated!). The river gear is returned, then it’s onto the bus for a short drive back to the office, (about 10 minutes). Back at the office you can view your photos and enjoy a picnic.

Allow 2 and a half hours for your round trip including shuttle.

THE ADAMS RIVER

The Adams River rafting trip is a 10 km section with class I, II and III white-water, rated moderate on the international scale of I to VI.

The river levels generally fluctuate as follows:

  • May – early spring – normal flow;
  • June – spring flow – extra thrills;
  • July – summer – normal;
  • August – late summer/fall – normal lower flow.

(We do recommend some swimming capability for spring flow trips) General guidelines for youth are 8 yrs old and 27 kilos (60 lbs) during early spring or summer flow; and 12 yrs old and 41 kilos (90 lbs) during spring flow. RAFTING WITH KIDS

Since 1983 thousands of kids have been thoroughly delighted with our river adventures. To provide a positive and memorable experience for younger rafters we recommend they are comfortable in and around the water and with having their heads submerged when they play at the lake or the pool. We do have thermal gear for youth, however, feel free to bring their own wetsuit or fleece sweater as it may be a closer fit. We have smaller youth kneel down and hold on rather than sitting up on the side of the tube. Many kids love to kneel at the front and get thoroughly drenched! Ditto for some adults. See our photo gallery / kid shots for even more exuberant expressions.

TRIP PHOTOS

Photos packages of your trip will be delivered by email. Our photographer makes every effort to provide clear shots of each raft. A photo is taken of your raft as you leave shore, several others as you blast thru the Adams River Gorge, and a final shot near the end of your trip. You may view these on the monitor back at the office. Once ordered with payment, they are usually ready for pick up in two hours, sometimes sooner. They can be mailed out at no extra charge if pick up is not possible.

HOUSE BOATERS

We offer free pick ups from Shuswap Lake Provincial Park or Anglemont Marina (must have at least 8 people for pick up in Anglemont or there is a $25 fuel charge). Houseboaters should plan to stay at Horseshoe Bay the night before their trip.

In the morning you can drive your houseboat to Anglemont Marina (20-30min away) or to Shuswap Lake Provincial Park (2.5-3hrs away). If your group is getting picked up at Anglemont Marina it will be a 20min bus ride back to our office in Scotch Creek, this will save your group about 5-6hrs of driving in your Houseboat. If your group is meeting us at Shuswap Lake Provincial Park it is a 5min ride by bus back to our office in Scotch Creek. You can park your Houseboat on shore for the few hours your group will be rafting but must return to Horseshoe Bay or another campsite for the evening.

There is no camping at the Park or Marina. Houseboaters please call for more details.
